Why Word Wyrd?
Well, why not?
The word “Wyrd,” if you didn’t know this (I make no assumptions either way), is a Germanic/Norse/Old English idea that means, roughly, fate. It’s more complex than that, though; it includes the ideas of past, present, future and possibilty.
It seems to me that words influence the way we see the past, the way we live our present, and the possibilities that are available to us. Words can lock us into prisons, and words can throw open the doors.
Enough metaphysical muttering.
About me: I’m yet another aspiring writer living in obscurity. Residing with me in that bleak place are my husband and my son, and the memory of several deceased fish. In order to feed my family, I tutor international students and make jewelry.
Poke about here; there’s not much yet, but I’m working on it. Let me know what you think of the things you find.
